Old Growth Forests are Helping us Fight Climate Change

Old growth forests provide exceptional carbon storage; sheltering them from harm is a top priority. Old trees are more tolerant to drought than younger ones, scientists have found, and could provide a buffer against climate change. Researchers studied 22,000 upper-canopy trees from across the globe. Looking at tree-ring data to see how droughts had affected their growth.
