This Amphibious Robotic Turtle Can Morph Its Legs Into Flippers

This underwater robot swims like a turtle and walks like a tortoise. It can morph its legs into flippers to move between water and land. One day it could be used for environmental monitoring or to carry things to human divers. Its name is the Amphibious Robotic Turtle, or ART for short, and it was developed by researchers at Yale. The Amphibious Robotic Turtle is perfectly adapted to an estuary, where land and water alternate. Right now, this underwater robot is still a prototype, but future versions could morph between modes in just seconds. They could also decide when to transform by reading their environment.
