Mr. Lutfey Siddiqi is Special Envoy of the head of the interim government of Bangladesh, with the rank-equivalent of cabinet minister.
Leads or supports initiatives in economic diplomacy, investment, trade and tariffs, labour reforms, migrant workers, ports and logistics, banking reform and IMF/WB liaison.
He is also a visiting professor-in-practice at the London School of Economics (LSE) and an adjunct professor at the National University of Singapore. He is an emeritus governor of LSE, a member of the advisory boards of LSE Systemic Risk Centre, LSE IDEAS, LSE Inclusion Initiative and the Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS) at NUS business school.
He was previously Global Head of Emerging Markets for Foreign Exchange, Rates and Credit at UBS Investment Bank where he was also the founding head of UBS Knowledge Network. Prior to that, a Managing Director at Barclays Bank in charge of a business-line across Asia Pacific, having started his finance career with Deutsche bank.
