The Nord Stream pipelines carry natural gas from Russia to Europe under the Baltic Sea. At the end of September, they sprung four major ruptures. Scientists say that catastrophic could be the single biggest Methane leak on record, as it could have released 780 million cubic meters of Methane into the atmosphere.
