Tryggvi Gudmundsson is an economist in the IMF’s Strategy, Policy, and Review Department (SPR), covering macroeconomic policy issues. Previously, he covered global financial markets in the IMF’s London office and has also worked in the European Department and the Monetary and Capital Markets Department. His research has focused on a variety of macro-financial issues. Prior to joining the IMF, Tryggvi held positions in central banking, a hedge fund, and in investment banking. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics.
