Steve Cunliffe is the Founder and CEO of Natural Capital, where he is pioneering new approaches to financing the long-term protection and restoration of Africa's natural assets. A Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Steve is a dynamic entrepreneur operating at the intersection of conservation, sustainable investing and nature finance.

With more than three decades of experience spanning conservation management, ecotourism, environmental consulting and impact investing, Steve has built a career focused on demonstrating that healthy ecosystems can generate enduring ecological, social and financial value. Prior to founding Natural Capital, he co-founded Conserve and served as Executive Director of the Grumeti Fund, where he led large-scale conservation initiatives in Tanzania. His practical experience is complemented by a strong academic background, including an MBA from the University of Cape Town and Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, an MPhil in Wildlife Management, and an Honours degree in Environmental Economics.

Steve is a widely published conservation photojournalist and an advocate for recognising nature as an investable asset class that underpins both economic prosperity and planetary resilience.
