Dr Dorfman is Honorary Senior Research Associate at the Energy Institute, University College London (UCL); Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust (JRCT) Nuclear Policy Research Fellow; Founder of the Nuclear Consulting Group (NCG); Member, European Network of Scientists for Social and Environmental Responsibility (ENSSER); Advisory Group Member, UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) nuclear Submarine Dismantling Project (SDP); Member, European Nuclear Energy Forum (ENEF) Transparency and Risk Working Groups; External Examiner, Aberdeen Business School, Robert Gordon University; served as Secretary to the UK government scientific advisory Committee Examining Radiation Risks from Internal Emitters (CERRIE). Paul is ‘Expert’ to the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) Opinion: ‘European Energy Dialogue: Towards a European Energy Community’: Socio-Technical Expert, EC Study: Benefits and limitations of nuclear fission for a low carbon economy (Horizon-2020). He has drafted sets of Department of Health NHS guidance, and co-edited the Routledge publication: ‘Globalisation, Markets and Healthcare Policy - Redrawing the patient as consumer’. His key interests include: Nuclear policy, energy futures, environmental risk, pollution control, participatory democracy, and public involvement.
