Nisha Arunatilake

Research Fellow, IPS

Nisha Arunatilake is a Research Fellow and Head of Labour, Employment and Human Resources Development research at the IPS. Since joining the IPS in 1995, her research and publications have covered various dimensions of development, especially in areas of education, health, labour, employment and social protection. As a graduate student, she worked at the Centre for Health Policy at Duke University, where she conducted policy related research work on substance abuse and ageing. She has also participated in several professional training courses, including a course on “Labour Market Policies” conducted by the World Bank Institute (WBI) and on “Assessment of the Poverty Impact of Public Programmes” conducted by International Development Research Centre (IDRC), Canada . She was recently at the UNESCO International Institute for Education Planning as a Visiting Researcher.
