Mike Fries is a co-founder of Liberty Global and Chief Executive Officer since 2005. Mr. Fries has overseen the company’s growth into a world leader in converged broadband, mobile and video communications with operations established in 50 countries over the last 30 years. Today Liberty Global serves 80 million fixed and mobile connections and generates $22 billion of revenue in Europe under some of the best-known consumer brands -- including Virgin Media-O2 in the UK, VodafoneZiggo in The Netherlands, Telenet in Belgium and Virgin Media in Ireland. The company is also an active investor in cutting-edge infrastructure, content and technology businesses through its $3 billion investment portfolio. Mr. Fries serves as Chairman of Sunrise Communications in Switzerland and Liberty Latin America (both formerly 100% owned by Liberty Global), and is a board member of Lionsgate Entertainment, Lionsgate Studios Corp and Grupo Televisa S.A.B. In addition to several philanthropic boards and initiatives, he is a board member of Cable Labs, a trustee and finance committee member of the Paley Center for Media and an ICT Governor of the World Economic Forum. Mr. Fries holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University where he is an emeritus trustee and an M.B.A. from Columbia University where he currently serves on the board.
