Lynn Malkawi is the Founder & Director of Wasel for Awareness & Education. Lynn began her career in the United States private sector, working in insurance and financial services across several Fortune 500 companies before transitioning into development and entrepreneurship.
She is an OPED writer whose work focuses on political, economic, and social issues in Jordan. She was awarded the Goolsby Leadership Academy Jacqualyn A. Fouse Community Service Award at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Lynn serves as a Board Member and Treasurer at the United Nations Global Compact – Jordan Office, a Member of the Board of Trustees at the Jordanian Economic Forum, Secretary General of the Global Shapers Amman Hub (an initiative of the World Economic Forum), and a Board Member at Haya Cultural Center. She previously served as an Advisory Committee Member at WUSC (World University Service of Canada). Lynn is also a member of Chatham House. She currently serves as the Levant Community Champion within the Global Shapers Advisory Group, overseeing 15 hubs across Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
In addition, she held several regional leadership positions within Rotary International, including District Country Chair for Civic Education & Peacebuilding, Country Secretary for Jordan & Palestine, Secretary of the Amman Cosmopolitan Rotary Club, and Public Relations/Image Committee Officer, where she oversaw and supported initiatives across more than 15 clubs in the region. She also serves as a One Young World Ambassador and a Global Peace Ambassador with Global Peace Chain, and has contributed internationally as a judge for both the Stevie Awards and the Hult Prize Foundation.
Lynn is currently a Young Global Leader with the Nizami Ganjavi International Center. She was also selected as an Impact Pioneer in the MENA 2026 cohort by the Swedish Institute, joining a network of leaders reimagining impact, innovation, and sustainable change across the region. She holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington and completed the executive program “Leadership, Organizing & Action – Leading Change” at Harvard University.
