Dr. L.J. Tan, PhD, is the Chief Policy and Partnerships Officer for Immunize.org (formerly the Immunization Action Coalition), where he helps lead the development of innovative, high-impact immunization resources that support advocacy, education, and vaccine access. He holds a PhD in medical science and specializes in medical and public health policy development, with a focus on infectious diseases, vaccine-preventable diseases, emerging infections, and antimicrobial resistance. Dr. Tan is nationally recognized for his leadership in infectious disease and public advocacy, as well as for convening and facilitating forward-thinking policy forums to address critical public health needs. He also serves as a consultant to ESWI and APACI on influenza summits for Europe and the Asia-Pacific region and previously directed the American Medical Association’s Division of Medicine and Public Health, advancing the integration of medical and public health practice across the lifespan.
