Goodness Esom is a lawyer specialising in energy, environmental and natural resources law, with a growing focus on the legal and policy dimensions of the net-zero transition and sustainable development. He has advised on renewable-energy transactions and financing, including a USD 7.5 million facility under the World Bank DARES program, supporting renewable mini-grid development in Nigeria.

He is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law and Climate Action Commission, contributing to global discourse on climate change, energy transition and pollution. He is also a Climate Reality Leader and a United People Global (UPG) Sustainability Leader, where he has led initiatives advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Goodness was selected for the Future50 Initiative, a flagship initiative of the Global Shapers Community and the World Economic Forum’s Global Foresight Network. Through his engagement with the Forum, he contributes to discussions on Africa’s energy and climate transition and publishes thought leadership on the WEF Stories platform.
