最近、私たちは草木がほとんど生育しない乾燥地、チャド東部アドレという町を訪問し、そこで、悲劇と希望を目の当たりにしました。隣接するスーダンで起きている紛争から逃れて新たにチャドに避難した人々が抱える、殺人、強姦、略奪の話は悲劇そのものでした。極めて困難な課題を抱えつつも、故郷に戻ることができるその日まで、チャドがスーダン難民を保護し安全確保に努めていることは希望の光です。
