Ayumi Moore Aoki is a tech diplomat, social entrepreneur, and mother of four, dedicated to advancing digital equity and empowering women and girls in STEAM. As Founder and CEO of Women in Tech® Global and the Tech Diplomacy Forum, Ayumi leads global initiatives at the intersection of technology, diplomacy, and social impact.
Women in Tech® Global, headquartered in Paris and active in over 60 countries with 250,000+ members, is on a mission to empower 5 million women and girls in STEAM by 2030. The organization’s four pillars-education, business, digital inclusion, and advocacy-drive skill development, entrepreneurship, digital access, and policy change for women in technology. Under Ayumi’s leadership, Women in Tech® Global has forged partnerships with UN Women, the World Economic Forum’s Edison Alliance, and governments worldwide.
A pioneer in tech diplomacy, Ayumi brings together governments, NGOs, academia, and the private sector to address digital inclusion and policy. In 2025, she launched the Osaka Protocol at the Women in Tech Global Summit, a framework aiming to reach 100 million women and girls by 2030 through STEM education, workforce participation, leadership, and digital access. She also led the inaugural Women in Tech US-EU Trade Mission, fostering transatlantic opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
As Founder and CEO of the Tech Diplomacy Forum, Ayumi connects technology and international relations, promoting cooperation on digital policy and innovation.
Ayumi is a member of UNESCO’s International Consultative Group of Experts for Closing the Gender Gap in Science and as a Council Member of the Global Future Council for Advanced Manufacturing and Value Chains at the World Economic Forum. She is an international speaker, regularly featured at major events such as the World Economic Forum, UNESCO, TEDx, LEAP, and the UN ESCAP Summit, and has lectured at Johns Hopkins University, Sciences Po, and École des Ponts.
Born in Brazil to a Brazilian mother and Japanese father, Ayumi’s early experiences in South Africa during apartheid shaped her lifelong commitment to challenging discrimination and promoting equity. She began her tech career in 2008 as a self-taught coder, which led to founding Women in Tech® Global in 2018.
Currently pursuing an Executive Doctoral Business Administration at École des Ponts Business School, Ayumi focuses her research on tech diplomacy and the digital divide. Recognized among Forbes France’s 40 Women, she has received awards including the AWS ID&E Community Trailblazer and the GLOMO Diversity in Tech Award.
