
How climate storytelling can move from fear to agency, and why it matters for policy
Stories about the impact of climate change are everywhere – from forest fires and cities ravaged by floods to children marching in the streets.
Anurit Kanti is a Sustainability Practice Consultant at Bain & Company, part of the Sustainability Practice (Product, Practice & Knowledge), supporting the practice in sustainability solution design, development, deployment & delivery, along with Sustainability Practice strategy, planning & reporting and Sustainability Practice communications & teaming. He was previously a Manager – Sustainability Specialist at Capgemini, advising global clients on ESG strategy, sustainability reporting, decarbonisation and climate action. Previously, he worked with ReNew (formerly ReNew Power), one of India’s leading renewable energy companies, where he advanced the sustainability agenda through reporting, CSR, global thought leadership, and communications. He helped the company engage with global platforms like the World Economic Forum (2019–22), COP26, COP27, and Climate Week NYC, and led its flagship Global Green Scholars Program, recruiting talent from top global universities.
Anurit is also an Adjunct Professor at the Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics, where he designed and teaches the institution’s newly launched sustainability course, bringing a practical, interdisciplinary lens to climate education. He is an alumnus of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, where he led sustainability-driven projects through the Gurugram Hub and authored multiple WEF Agenda blogs on climate and environment.
He holds a Master’s in Liberal Studies from Ashoka University with a focus on Environmental Economics and served as Director on its Alumni Council. A Young India Fellow, he also holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from NMIMS.
Previously, Anurit was an international award-winning environmental journalist, writing over 350 articles for Hindustan Times and BW Businessworld, earning him the Young Environmental Journalist of the Year award at the Asian Environmental Journalism Awards by the Singapore Environment Council.
He has been featured in the 40 Under 40 list by the Indian Achievers Club, the youngest recipient at age 27. Anurit frequently speaks at leading universities, conferences, and schools on sustainability, climate change, and environmental leadership.
