Alexander Capri

Senior Lecturer, National University of Singapore

I write and lecture about global value chains, international trade, technology, geopolitics and climate change.

As a Senior Fellow at the National University of Singapore, I work with companies, NGOs and government policy makers regarding innovative, sustainable and ethical value chain management.

I am a regular contributor to CNBC, BBC, Bloomberg, Channel News Asia and other media outlets.

A major theme throughout my research involves disruptive technology and how it impacts different areas of global value chains. I examine how increasing transparency, data analytics and the IoT are redefining business ecosystems. My lectures and writings also explore the relevance of civil society in present day strategic planning and risk management processes.

Before becoming an academic, I served as the Asia Partner and Regional Leader of KPMG’s International Trade & Customs Practice, based in Hong Kong. Prior to that I spent 10 years in the US government as an international trade specialist.

I did my graduate studies at the London School of Economics.

I write a column for Forbes Asia
