Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide, resulting in 1.8 million mortalities each year, with an estimated increase of 30% over the next decade. However, the needed policy attention is currently lacking to tackle this pressing issue.

Urgent and coordinated action is required globally to ensure that countries reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by one third, in line with the United Nations SDG 3.4 target. In this report, the Lung Cancer Collaboration outlines how governments can implement comprehensive cancer control to improve early detection and screening, treatment and care. This report articulates the direct attention and funding required to reduce the burden and shape the future of lung cancer for patients, healthcare systems and society.
