Air pollution kills more people each year than AIDs, TB, malaria, malnutrition, road accidents, war and murder combined. What will it take for leaders to combat this health crisis? In partnership with Technische Universität Dresden, Shapers will install particulate matter sensors throughout the city to measure, evaluate and visualize air pollution in order to raise awareness and inspire action. Once sufficient empirical data is collected, Shapers will apply learnings and work with public officials to develop a sustainable, tangible catalogue of measures to improve air quality.Public workshops for citizens of all backgrounds will transfer knowledge and encourage others to build and maintain sensor devices in the city.
