Last year’s Global Risks Report published by the World Economic Forum warned that a divergent economic recovery from COVID-19 could deepen divisions - even as collaboration was urgently required. Yet, despite hard-learned lessons on the interdependence of global risks, few anticipated the extent of instability that would subsequently unfold, this time driven by a new war in Europe.
