Sudhir Rama Murthy

Research Fellow, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford

Sudhir is a Research Fellow with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, working on responsible business. His focus is on responsible management practices. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, where he specialised in sustainable manufacturing. Sudhir is also an Early Career Research Fellow of the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship and a Senior Common Room Member of St Antony’s College, Oxford.

Sudhir’s current focus is on responsible management where firms profitably tackle societal and environmental concerns. His research bridges management practices to accounting practices of responsible corporations.

He has a broad interest in how ongoing political shifts and technological shifts are shaping avenues for responsible business. He co-edited a book for Springer in 2019 on sustainable manufacturing and post-globalisation.

Sudhir’s research interests are in the following areas:
• Responsible management
• Sustainable supply chains
• Circular Economy
• Business-nonprofit partnerships
• Technology strategy

Sudhir has teaching experience on Global opportunities and threats, Responsible business, Circular Economy, and Supply chain management.

Sudhir was a Manmohan Singh Scholar of St John’s College, University of Cambridge, for his doctoral studies. He holds a master’s degree from the Indian Institute of Science. He is part of the Consultative Group to Principal Scientific Adviser, Government of India, where he participates in conversations on environment and waste.
