Deputy Director for Policy Campaigns, COP26 Unit, UK Government. Previously led work on clean growth in the UK's Industrial Strategy; served as head of private office to the Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change; led on climate change strategy at the UK Foreign Office in the run-up to the Paris Agreement; served as a diplomat for ten years, with postings in Beijing and Delhi. Co-authored the report 'Accelerating the low carbon transition: the case for stronger, more targeted and coordinated international action'; project managed the UK-US-China-India report 'Climate Change: A Risk Assessment' (Cambridge, 2015); and recently developed a new UK-China-India-Brazil project on the 'Economics of Energy Innovation and System Transition'. Interests in climate change risk assessment, economics, and diplomacy. Background in physics.
