Severin Podolak

Head, Event Management & Operations; Member of the Executive Committee, World Economic Forum

As Head of Event Management, Severin leads the planning and the delivery of all operational, logistic and technology elements of the Forum’s institutional events. Prior to the Forum, Severin was heading the event management department at Swiss Re, Zurich, Switzerland (May17 - Oct21). He was also the head of Delegation and Event Service at FIFA, Zurich, Switzerland (Apr09 - May16), responsible for operational organization of World Cups, tournaments and special events. He was overseeing three units accountable for event management, protocol, transportation, travel and accommodation.
Among previous roles, Severin was a Travel Expert at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Berne, Switzerland ( Oct06 - Mar09 ); Head of Business Travel at Take it Travel, Lucerne, Switzerland ( Aug05 - Sep06); Incentive & Group Manager at the Brazilian Incentive & Tourism, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Oct03 - Jul05).
Severin was also Infantry Platoon Leader, Swisscoy/KFOR (NATO Peacekeeping Mission), Prizren, Kosovo.
He holds an Executive Master in Business Administration (EMBA) and a Bachelor in Business Administration (BA)
