Richard Freund

Global Shaper, Oxford Hub

Richard is a a Quantitative Research Analyst at Young Lives, an international study of childhood poverty. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science from the University of Cape Town and an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford. His research thus far has focused on inequality, multidimensional child poverty and the impact of COVID-19 on well-being.

During his studies, Richard co-founded a non-profit organisation, Periods For Hope, which aims to empower female and male learners through the provision of reusable sanitary products and sexual health workshops. He has also completed internships at economic consulting firms DNA Economics and Vivid Economics.
