Pradeep Karuturi

Alumni, Global Shapers Community

Pradeep Karuturi is a sustainability advocate and senior public policy professional working at the intersection of climate action, clean energy, and sustainable mobility. With more than a decade of experience across government, industry, and think tanks, he has contributed to shaping policy and grassroots climate initiatives in India and abroad.

Pradeep’s climate journey began in 2016 when he was selected as a youth ambassador for the 2041 Foundation’s International Antarctica Expedition, where he studied firsthand the impacts of climate change. Motivated by these insights, he went on to establish five community centres for indigenous tribes in the Eastern Ghats in 2017, supporting education, healthcare, and livelihood access—an effort later recognized by senior government leadership in India.

An advocate for sustainable mobility, Pradeep undertook a 2,000-kilometre cycling expedition across South India in 2019 to promote climate action, organic farming, and low-carbon transport. During his tenure as Consultant and Project Head with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, he led the digitisation of 2,500+ public schools, bringing digital learning to over one million children and mobilising more than $2 million in philanthropic support.

In the policy domain, Pradeep has held leadership roles advancing India’s clean mobility and energy agenda. As Head of the Centre for Clean Mobility at the Ola Mobility Institute, he steered EV policy advocacy, contributed to 15+ research publications, and supported state-level EV adoption efforts, including partnerships with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Government of Kerala. He currently serves as Director for Energy, Environment, and Infrastructure at the U.S.-India Business Council, where he works closely with U.S. and Indian government agencies and Fortune 500 companies on critical priorities spanning renewable energy, carbon markets, LNG, and critical minerals.

Pradeep is a trained Climate Reality Leader, a former Global Shaper with the Bengaluru Hub of the World Economic Forum, and a Senior Melton Fellow. He continues to engage actively with youth and community-driven climate action while shaping policy conversations that advance a sustainable, low-carbon future.
