Miriam Chaum

Senior Director, Head of Central Policy, Uber Technologies

Miriam Chaum is Uber’s Senior Director and Head of Central Policy. She leads the development of Uber's global public policy positions and strategies across all the company’s policy issues, including work and labor, artificial intelligence and fairness, autonomous vehicles, marketplace and product, safety, privacy and data, sustainability, and core regulatory topics. Miriam and her team work closely with Uber’s regional policy, product, and operations teams to shape policies that support innovation while promoting equitable access and positive outcomes for communities in the over 70 countries and 10,000 cities where Uber operates. Miriam has spent her career leveraging market forces and market-based solutions to address social and environmental policy issues across the public, private, and non-profit sectors in the U.S. and abroad. She joined Uber in 2018 from an education technology start-up, where she led strategy, planning, and analytics and performance measurement. Miriam previously worked as a public sector consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a senior policy advisor to central government in New Zealand. She holds a BA in public policy and international affairs from Princeton University.
