Mark has worked in IT for 30 years, initially in pure technical roles with HP and IBM but subsequently moved into IT security in 1998 when he joined the IBM Internet Emergency Response Team in APAC.

For the last 15 years he has held the role of CISO for Trafigura and Group companies with global responsibility for all locations and business lines. During his time at Trafigura he has also held CIO responsibility for the Mining and Logistics divisions.

As the Group CISO he is accountable to the Board of Trafigura.

Prior to this he worked for a decade in Investment Banking, joining ABN AMRO in 1999 and then moving in 2003 to UBS AG where he held various roles including Global Head of Risk Management and Security for the Investment Bank.
