Marianne Gybels

Director Of Sustainability, Booking.com

Marianne Gybels joined Booking.com in March 2014 to lead the company’s corporate social responsibility programme, Booking Cares, as well as to nurture the company’s unique culture of diversity, inclusion and innovation. In this role, Marianne oversees all global efforts focused on creating social value through initiatives like the Booking Cares Volunteer Programme which sees employees partner with local NGOs on projects that help improve destinations worldwide.

In 2017, Marianne led development of the Booking.com Booster Programme, an accelerator programme created to identify, mentor and fund promising startups dedicated to sustainable tourism, which saw over 700 applications in its first year. She is also responsible for numerous internal initiatives designed to foster Booking.com’s growing and dynamic, diverse employee base, in addition to managing partnerships with others in the wider tech community.

Marianne has a background in development aid and in working with NGOs to realise the power of social enterprises. Prior to joining Booking.com, she worked for a startup on crowdfunding and crowdsourcing.

She holds a Master’s degree in Social Science, speaks Dutch and English and is based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
