Has served as: Vice Minister for Latin America and the Caribbean (2017-2018); Permanent Representative of Mexico to the Organization of American States (2016-2017); Ambassador of Mexico to Austria and Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Austria (2013-2016); Permanent Representative of Mexico to the UN (2011-2013); Permanent Representative of Mexico to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland (2004 - 2009).
First President of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland (2006 - 2007).
