José del Rio has been working for 23 years as a journalist specializing in economic and business issues in Argentina. He has been editor at Apertura and Cronista for 11 years and for the past 2 years he has been Editor in Chief at la Nación.
Under his management, Apertura grew as a leading magazine focused on business and economic issues. He renewed the content of Information Technology, which focuses on technology news for business executives. Finally, he renewed the content of Clase Ejecutiva (focused on lifestyle), and RPM (dedicated to cars).
Additionally, he was responsible for the magazine supplements and the management of the websites infotechnology.com and apertura.com.
For ten years, he has been the economic voice of the program ‘No somos nadie,’ which is broadcasted live from 6AM to 10AM on Metro 95.1 FM.
He won several awards throughout his career, such as the Award for Excellence in Business Journalism (Citi-Columbia University); the Award for the Best Economic Mass Media Outlet in Latin America (Apertura and Business Community of La Nación) and the Award for the Best Economic Column for the Sunday Edition of La Nación (Professional Council of Economic Sciences).
He graduated from the Catholic University of Argentina in journalism. He also holds a degree in Business Administration from the UBA, and completed a postgraduate degree in advanced finance at UCA in 2010. Currently, he is working towards a PhD in Business Administration.
