Professor, Fundação Getulio Vargas

Prof. Joisa Dutra is the Founder and Director of the Center for Studies in Regulation and Infrastructure (CERI) at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Brazil, since 2010, and Coordinator of the Executive master’s in economics at the FGV Graduate School of Economics, since 2013. She was Director of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL) from 2005 to 2009. Her research work has focused on the economics and regulation of energy and infrastructure industries including auctions, procurement, contracts, governance, financing, and risk.
She graduated in Economics, with MSc. and Ph.D. degrees from FGV’s Graduate School of Economics becoming a professor. She was a visiting professor at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at Harvard University’s Kennedy School (2010) and the University of Queensland through the Australian Leadership Award Fellowship Program (2013). With a distinguished career in the network industries’ economics and regulation, Prof. Dutra is a Global Future Council member at the World Economic Forum, a Board Member of SANEPAR, and a former Board Member of BNDES (Brazilian National Development Bank).
