James Lewis

Senior Vice-President and Director, Technology and Public Policy Program, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS)

James Andrew Lewis is a Senior Vice President at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the US Naval Academy’s Center for Cybersecurity Studies. Before joining CSIS, he worked at the Departments of State and Commerce. He was Executive Director for CSIS’s groundbreaking Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency and the advisor for the successful 2010, 2013 and 2015 UN Group of Governmental Experts on Information Security. Lewis has authored numerous publications since coming to CSIS, and received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
