Happymon Jacob is an Indian academic, columnist and commentator based in New Delhi. He is an Associate Professor of Diplomacy and Disarmament Studies at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), where he teaches courses on Nuclear Disarmament, India's Foreign Policy, and National Security & International Relations. He is the founder of the Council for Strategic and Defense Research, a New-Delhi-based think tank. Jacob is the editor of India's World magazine and a columnist for Hindustan Times. He is the author of Line on Fire: Ceasefire Violations and India-Pakistan Escalation Dynamics (Oxford University Press, 2019), and The Line of Control: Traveling with the Indian and Pakistani Armies (Penguin Viking, 2018).
