Gisela is the Founder and alma matter of Nutrivida, a social enterprise committed to eradicating hidden hunger in Central America and Haiti with a twofold strategy: to tackle the nutritional deficits that limit optimal human development and equip the community to break the health unawareness cycle of populations living in poverty and extreme poverty, especially children under two years of age, with the emphasis on slums and rural areas. Gisela currently serves as Director of Strategy, Sustainability and Corporate Affairs in BAC International Bank. She previously worked in FIFCO, following formative experiences in social impact at the AVINA Foundation and research for the Latin American Centre for Competitiveness and Sustainable Development at INCAE. She is an industrial engineer, Kellogg MBA graduate, first woman President of AMCHAM Costa Rica, and one of the most influential businesswomen in Central America by Forbes magazine. Nutrivida was born from her social project as Aspen Fellow in 2010 and designed in collaboration with Yunus Social Business. She was awarded as Schwab Foundation Corporate Social Intrapreneur of the year in 2022.
