Corli Pretorius

Corli brings more than 20 years' work experience in the fields of environmental management, agriculture and sustainable development, including 15 years at the international level in multilateral- and multi-stakeholder contexts. Before taking up her position at the UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre, she represented UN Environment in the New York-based inter-agency coordination mechanisms, advocating for the integration of environmental considerations in UN policies and programmes. Her initial assignment at UN Environment was to Nairobi, where she was managing and coordinating the Executive Director’s programme. During her tenure at IUCN she led a consultative process at IUCN with management, members and external stakeholders to secure political buy-in and agreement to transform its corporate and strategic communications approach. Corli is South African and has a Masters of Science in Agriculture (Agricultural Economics) from the University of Stellenbosch.
