Charlotte Pera is Vice President and Deputy CEO at the Bezos Earth Fund, where she works closely with President and CEO, Andrew Steer, to build and lead the growing organization. From 2012 to 2021, Charlotte served as President and CEO of the ClimateWorks Foundation, a leading philanthropic organization that works globally to mobilize philanthropy and advance climate solutions. During Charlotte’s tenure, ClimateWorks made major contributions to climate mitigation with well over $600 million in grantmaking across ten global programs, provided intelligence and convening services to power international philanthropic collaboration, and grew rapidly to support a growing field.

Charlotte previously held leadership roles for more than a decade at the Energy Foundation, most recently as Senior Vice President and Director of US Programs. She helped build the Energy Foundation’s program in China and worked with donors to launch the European Climate Foundation. Earlier in her career (1991-1999), Charlotte analyzed advanced vehicle technologies, developed emissions inventory models, and designed public programs to reduce vehicle pollution at engineering consulting firm Acurex Environmental.

Charlotte serves on the supervisory board of the European Climate Foundation and served for many years as a founding board member of the International Council for Clean Transportation. Charlotte holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
