Anysie Ishimwe

Anysie Ishimwe serves as the Country Implementation Lead for the African Food Fellowship, an initiative of Wageningen University in partnership with the IKEA foundation. The African Food Fellowship recruits food systems leaders working in the impact areas of sustainable land use; access to nutritious foods; and food entrepreneurship to receive further training from Wageningen University and work on various food systems initiatives that address food insecurity, while applying climate-sensitive solutions. Previously, she was the Country Manager for Energy First Rwanda (EFR) Limited leading business development efforts and operations on the ground. EFR is a subsidiary of Genesis Energy Group a UK-based Energy company with operations throughout Africa, with a mission to "Light Up Africa, One Community at a time".

Anysie also worked as a Senior Business Analyst at Karisimbi Business Partners, a socially motivated management consulting firm in Rwanda that provides strategic advisory to private sector companies to run profitably and maximize their social impact.

Anysie serves as the Vice President of the board of directors for Sager Ganza Microfinance, a microfinance institution committed to economically uplifting women and youth in rural areas to have access to financial products tailored to their specific needs and goals.

She graduated Cum Laude from Hope College (USA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Psychology. She also completed a program in Global Health and Economic Development at the School of International training in Switzerland. It is her life commitment to seeing a thriving generation of dignified, educated, and healthy Africans who are collaborating to change the historic African narrative.
