Anna Tumadóttir is CEO at Creative Commons. She joined in September 2019 as the Director of Product and also served as COO before being appointed to CEO in early 2024. Anna’s background includes leadership of distributed start-ups and work in public university administration. She is focused on safeguarding equitable, open access to knowledge, while balancing societal considerations regarding creative labor in an age of AI. Anna holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Macalester College and a master’s in strategic management from the University of Iceland.
