SBP

SBP shrinks the time between disaster and recovery by ensuring that disaster-impacted citizens and communities have access to the information and support they need, before and after disaster hits. SBP evaluates the needs of the families affected by a natural disaster and delivers services accordingly. Its model is based on the Toyota Production System and is enhanced by AmeriCorps members and volunteer labour, which enable SBP to rebuild disaster-impacted homes in an average of 61 days, at 40% of the cost of market rate contractors. So far, it has rebuilt 1,420 houses.
