Sanergy

Sanergy builds affordable sanitation products designed for urban slums and franchises them to community members to serve all residents. It serves 142,000 slum residents each day. The company professionally collects sanitation waste from the community by handcarts and trucks, ensuring that they can install toilets deep in slums. In 2020 Sanergy removed 7.2 tonnes of waste. It converts the waste at a centralized facility into valuable end-products such as organic fertiliser and insect-based animal feed that is sold to farmers across Kenya, producing 30% increases in yields. Its model provides a closed-loop, zero-waste solution, offsetting more than 10,500 tonnes of CO2 yearly.
