Its goal is to develop an advanced fission battery to help microgrid communities to have always-on, emission-free power without the need to refuel for decades. Many microgrid communities are reliant on dirty, expensive and unreliable diesel fuel. Within the USA, let alone worldwide, there is significant energy poverty and even microgrid communities that are already climate refugees.
