Meta has been defining the field of augmented reality (AR) since its inception in 2012. Simultaneous to a successful Kickstarter campaign, Meta was selected by Y Combinator for seed funding. The company introduced the first AR headset that enabled people to manipulate digital objects or holograms with their hands, then secured Series A funding from a group of tier-one investors committed to making the promise of AR a reality. Meta is not just bringing powerful and affordable AR to the market; it is using the rigour of neuroscience to perfect the design of holographic experiences that will enhance lives.
