Based in Tanzania, Healthy Seaweed (Seaweed Cafe) is an ocean-climate agri-food company founded in 2020. It addresses the limited availability of nutrient-rich superfoods from the ocean by innovating the seaweed industry. It produces diverse, high-quality, affordable and nutritious seaweed-based foods while creating local and international markets for women seaweed farmers. It has produced 13 innovative seaweed food product lines for customers in Tanzania, Europe, America and five African countries. Seaweed Cafe provides 130 women seaweed farmers in Zanzibar and Kilwa with a consistent market for their seaweed production. The company supports women's seaweed groups with climate-resilient seaweed farming, ensuring sustainable production.
