The Brazilian Fraternity of Assistance to Convicts – FBAC brings together, guides and supervises the 49 Associations of Protection and Assistance to Convicts - APACs in operation in 5 Brazilian states, in addition to 23 other countries that are implementing or expanding the method. FBAC promotes training and capacity building to APAC staff, volunteers and recuperandos (prisoners), ensuring that the prisoner recovery methodology is correctly applied. Its methodology, composed of 12 fundamental elements, is based on human valorization, community participation, work, merit, family, etc., which, consequently, reduce the average Brazilian recidivism rate from 85% to less than 30% in APACs.
