Associação de Desenvolvimento Sustentável e Solidário da Região Sisaleira (APAEB) is an organization promoting sustainable economic and social development in order to improve the living standard of small farmers in sisal production. The organization was founded in 1980 by a group of small farmers with the hope of achieving scale export for their sisal crops. Today, its finished product is successfully traded in more than 16 countries.
