Centro para la Transformación Urbana
The Centre for Urban Transformation advances public-private collaboration in cities to enable more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities and local economies.
Principia, a private company held by a majority of public-sector shareholders, was founded in 2011 to acquire the areas hosting Expo Milano 2015. It has worked to enhance the site by opening up to the community and defining a new development for the entire site, a space of more than 1 million square metres. Its work has led to the creation of the MIND Milano Innovation District, an innovation hub and a new neighbourhood for the city. Its commitment creates space for future initiatives throughout Lombardy, where it can use its expertise as a mediator between institutions and private operators.
