Amru Rice Cambodia Co Ltd was registered in Ministry of Commerce in 2011 followed by gradual vertical integration by the establishment of its own semi-processing facilities working its way upstream into contract farming with farmer cooperatives in specific provinces.
Our growing manufacturing facilities have been bestowed with industry certification such as ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and in the process of adding additional BRC and BSCI Certification. We are standing as the Top 2 in export and production of rice over 240,000 tons from 2012-2017. The strong growth company is increasing the export of the ethical products such as organic rice, fair trade, and sustainable. It’s up from 10 million in 2012 to $38 million per year in 2018. The supply chain has received proper income with higher than farmers not joined with AmruRice around 30% to 50% as per government and assessment report by developing agencies.
AMRU Group’s business is also conducted with strong ethics by embracing SDGs business concept by investing with farmers on Organic Rice and SRP Rice concept. We work closely with various Associations of Cooperatives throughout the country in carefully crafted contract farming format to also improve livelihood of our farmers along the supply chain.
The company has also strived tirelessly to diversify into niche market segments to capture more value add and enhance corporate margins. Our nearly 250 employees and 10,000 farmers family strong work force keeps expanding through constant on-the-job training as our activities grow throughout the provinces where we operate. The company is strongly in doing inclusive business in the 3M model (Market, Mentoring, Money) with smallholder farmers in the remote area by developing the social impact agriculture crops for the niche market and sustainable development. Seeing the growth and inspired participation from numbers of farmers, the company has invested in heavily in the improvement of the infrastructure for drying, storage, milling, processing and packaging, and export to over 40 countries in the world. The strong partnership and participation from smallholders are the key to reduce the poverty and inclusive opportunity where the company pioneering the PPPP (Public Private Producer Partnership) in 2017.
The company has received the honor and awards from national and international recognition of the contribution in sustainable development and inclusive business such as Young Entrepreneurship Award 2015 by Takeda Foundation in Japan, Prime Minister of Cambodia – Rice Contribution Award 2016, Cambodian Woman Outstanding Award 2017, ASEAN AGROW Award 2018, ASEAN Excellent SME- Innovation Award 2018, ASEAN Young Entrepreneurship Award 2018.
