The Afghan Institute of Learning (AIL) is an Afghan women's NGO founded in 1995. Its mission is to provide education, training and health services to vulnerable Afghans in order to foster self-reliance, critical thinking skills, and community participation for all Afghans. AIL's internationally recognized work is improving the health and education of Afghan women and children, relieving their suffering after three decades of war and civil strife, and enhancing the quality of their lives. AIL's programmes have provided education; teacher training; health services and training; and leadership, human rights, peace and other training to over 15 million Afghans.
