Vikram Rao is the Chief Trust Officer for Salesforce. He is responsible for global information security including engineering, operations, communications, governance, compliance and M&A integration. Vikram has two decades of experience in the security and engineering field and is passionate about building security into everything that Salesforce does.
Prior to being named Chief Trust Officer, Vikram spent two years as the Executive Vice President of Security Engineering and Operations. In this role, he led teams responsible for delivering highly available security and network services that are used to protect Salesforce and customer’s data.
Before joining Salesforce, Vikram spent 18 years at Microsoft in a variety of engineering leadership roles, including engineering general management and leading multi-disciplinary teams. Vikram's areas of experience in security spans consumer, enterprise and cloud customers. During his tenure, he led architecture, security strategy, design, and delivery of security technologies ranging from digital rights management, intellectual property protection, digital content licensing and security services for the online store and silicon\chipset\device security.
Vikram has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering and lives in the Pacific Northwest.
