Gemma Corrigan

Lead, Sustainable Markets, World Economic Forum Geneva

Gemma Corrigan leads the Sustainable Markets Initiative and is a Global Leadership Fellow and Senior Economist at the World Economic Forum where she mobilizes investors, corporates, and governments to find shared value and accelerate and amplify responsible business strategies. Previously, she focused on fostering inclusive growth at the country level and was responsible for the development of a new benchmarking tool, which measures how well countries deliver improved living standards in line with planetary boundaries, and aims to serve as an alternative to GDP. She is a lead author of the Inclusive Growth Report, the Forum’s first publication in this area. She has also co-authored Building an Effective Ecosystem for ESG, the Global Competitiveness Report 2014-15 and the Global Risk Report 2014.

Prior to joining the World Economic Forum, she worked in the Division of Country Programmes at the International Trade Centre and in the Economic Section of the US Embassy in Argentina, where she focused on export strategies and issues related to trade competitiveness. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economic History from Barnard College, Columbia University, and a Master’s in Political Economy of Development from the London School of Economics.
