Anna Grajales

Born in Mexico City but raised in Houston, Texas, Anna acquired a vision for universal storytelling. Her productions and stories have been screened in film festivals in Mexico, the USA, Canada, Spain, and Italy. She has flourished as a screenwriter, always working alongside her writing partner, Paola Mazlum. Both have focused their careers on building stories with a youthful and fresh perspective. Their first feature script, “Nada de esto fue un error” (to be filmed this year) is produced by Cinema 226 and Videocine, the largest film distributor in Mexico. The duo completed the Spanish-language adaptation of a feature-length comedy for Alazraki Entertainment in 2019. They are currently part of the writing team for a teen series for Netflix. They are also developing TV series for Wattpad Studios, 3PAS, and Fábula, the Chilean production company founded by Oscar-nominated director Pablo Larrain. Similarly, they work on feature film projects for WarnerMedia and Sony. Anna is currently repped by World Talent House, the first Agency specialized in representing the Latin American Creative Team behind the camera.

In 2017, she received the Distinction of the Cinematographic Merit by the government of the state of Guanajuato for her achievement in filmmaking and was listed as one of the "30 Emerging Writers" by the Oaxaca Film Fest, popularly known as "the Sundance of Latin America". Her latest production, "Just Remain" is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime. For almost two years, Anna was part of the Development and Content team of Fábrica de Cine, the production company founded by Gastón Pavlovich, producer of "The Irishman" and "Silence" by Martin Scorsese.

She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Mass Media Communications from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. Anna is a member of the Mexican chapter of the Women in Film & Television organization and has become an advocate for a fair and just representation of women in front and behind the camera. As well, she is part of TINTA, the first association of Mexican screenwriters.
